Birth
Howard Sholtes was born on the family farm on Rock Rd. in the town of Knox on March 4, 1887. He was one of nine children of Stanton Sholtes and Ida Gibbs
Education
He attended the one room schoolhouse on Rock Rd.
Occupation
He was a farmer and helped work the family farm on Rock Rd. He next bought a farm on West Rd. next to the Sholtes family farm on Rock Rd. and worked it until the 1940s when he sold it and moved to a house (the Berne school house next to the Reformed Ch. parsonage) in Berne village.
Marriage & Children
Howard Sholtes married Olive Farlee born June 5, 1892 died in May 1969, in 1911 and they had two children:
- Elwood Sholtes
- Ella Sholtes born in 1911 died in 2003
Death
Howard Sholtes died August 16, 1973 and is buried in the Knox Cemetery.
