Timothy McCarty was born between 1835 and 1840 in Berne to James McCarty.[1] Unfortunately little is known about the family.

Timothy McCarty and his friend Joseph B. Northrup both drowned at West Troy, September 21, 1862, and Timothy was buried in Berne.[4]
