Obituary
Mrs. Matthew Livingston
Our community was saddened Monday morning, May 3, (1920) by the death of Mary Warner, daughter of the late Abram J. Warner and Mary Ann Osterhout, wife of Matthew Livingston, aged 81 years, after a brief illness of pneumonia. She had enjoyed good health until Wednesday night, April 28, when she was taken seriously ill. Dr. W. E. Deitz of Berne was called and did everything that could be done to save the aged and worn soul, but after four days of suffering she passed away. Being of a kind and loving nature, her life has been a beautiful service in doing for others and her family.
Mrs. Livingston was born Oct. 15, 1838. She was married twenty years later, Oct. 30, 1858, and soon afterward settled on the farm here where she lived for 54 years. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, three sons, Clarence Livingston and A. Jay Livingston of Albany, and Howard Livingston of this place, on brother, Elias Warner, and one sister, Mrs. Elmina Witter, also five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday at 10 o'clock at her lat residence, and at 10:30 at the Lutheran church, the Rev. W. D. Worman officiating. Burial in the Knox Cemetery.
