Birth

Lucius was born October 5, 1863,[1] in Rensselaerville to Wesley Decker and Mary Hope Fox.[2]

Occupation

He was a farmer.

Marriage & Children

Lucius married Adelade Fox (1867-1934), daughter of Jacob Fox and his wife, Harriet. They had three known children:

Death

Lucius died May 3, 1958, at 94 years of age, at the home of his daughter in Pittsfield, M.A.[1][2] He was buried in Indian Fields Cemetery on May 6.[1][2]

Obituary

From The Altamont Enterprise, May 9, 1958

Lucius Decker, of Westerlo, father of the late Albany County Sheriff Foster Decker, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Nora Tuttle, Pittsfield, Mass., Saturday, Apr. 3. Funeral service, with Rev. Donald Boyce of the Westerlo Reformed church officiating, was held Tuesday afternoon at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville. Interment was in Indian Fields cemetery, Alcove. Mr. Decker was born in the town of Rensselaerville Sept. 5, 1863, son of the late Wesley and Mary Hope Fox Decker. Surviving in addition to his daughter are one son, Huyler Decker, Berne RFD; one brother, Arthur Decker, Tacoma, Wash.; One half sister, Mrs. Mary Woodruff, Medusa; two half brothers, Bert Gifford of Medusa and James Gifford, Rensselaerville; two grandchildren, James Decker of Westerlo and Mrs. Hazel Lossi of Albany; also two great-grandchildren.

Note: Death date in Obituary is incorrect. Funeral Service card notes his death date as May 3 which was a Saturday. The above obituary indicates Sat., Apr. 3 as a death date. April 3 in 1958, was a Thursday.
