Otis was born Aug. 1886 in Berne or Middleburgh, son of James K. Alverson and Rhoda E. Shoemaker.

He attended school in Middleburgh, Schoharie, NY.[1]

- 1910 he was a clerk, single and living at home with his parents at 342 Orange St., Albany, Albany, NY.[2]
- 1920 he was a shipping clerk in a brewery living on Barrach Road, East Greenbush, Rensselaer, NY.[3]
Marriage and Children
Before 1915 he married Elle V. They had a daughter Rhoda born in 1915.[4]
