During its service the regiment lost by death, killed in action, 5 officers, 120 enlisted men; of wounds received in action, 1 officer, 62 enlisted men; of disease and other causes, 2 officers, 145 enlisted men; total, 8 officers, 327 enlisted men; aggregate, 335; of whom 15 enlisted men died in the hands of the enemy.
Among those disabled:
- Daniel Burlingham of Westerlo was a 25 year old Corporal of Company B when he was discharged for disability on November 3, 1863 at Philadelphia, PA
- Nelson D. Chandler of Knox was a 37 year old and a Wagoner of Company A when he was discharged for his disability on March 27, 1863 at the US Military Hospital at Albany, NY.
- Lewis Davis of Rensselaerville was a 20 year old Private of Company C when he was stricken and discharged for his disability on May 1, 1862 at the Union Hospital at Albany, NY. He returned to his father’s home where he died about a year later.
- Alfred Flansburgh of Berne was a 42 year old Private of Company K when he was wounded in action on June 1, 1864. He was transferred to the 146th Infantry and mustered out on July 15, 1865 at Washington, DC. He had a wife and 5 children.
- Andrew Secor of Knox was a 24 year old Private of Company G when he was discharged for his disability on April 6, 1863 at Falmouth, VA.
Among those who died of disease:
- Isaac Jonathan Roach a native of Knox was was a 21 year old Corporal of Company F when he died of typhoid fever on December 29, 1861at Camp Butterfield in Hall’s Hill, VA. His remains were returned to Knox for burial.
- George W. Schermerhorn a native of Rensselaerville was a 21 year old Fifer of Company C when he died of measles at Kalorama Hospital at Washington, DC. He was buried in Washington, DC
