Mr. Wilber married Anna DeRouville and they had four daughters: Dolores, Nancy, Frances, and Grace; and a son, John E. Wilber, Jr.[2]

John was a construction worker and home builder for area builders for over 25 years retiring in 1982. Previously he had worked as a boilermaker at the former West Albany Shops of the New York Central Railroad.[2]

John was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II.[2]

John, of Suto Road, died on Monday, November 4, 1996, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. (The Social Security Death Index reports his date of death as November 3, 1996.)[2]

EAST BERNE -- John E. Wilber, Sr., 75 years, of Suto Road died on Monday at Albany Medical Center Hospital. Born in Albany, he had been a lifelong area resident. He was a construction worker and home builder for area builders for over 25 years retiring in 1982. Previously he had worked as a boilermaker at the former West Albany Shops of the New York Central Railroad. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of W.W. II and a member of the Voorheesville Post #1493, American Legion. He is survived by his wife, Anna DeRouville Wilber; four daughters, Dolores (Herbert) Leahy of Colonie, Nancy (Leo) Dott of Colonie, Frances (Robert) Otty of Colonie, Grace (Charles) Kaufman of Ballston Lake; a son, John E. (Donna) Wilber, Jr. of Schenectady; two sisters, Ruth Leonhardt of Rensselaer and Mary Smith of Guilderland; a brother, Norman Wilber of Latham; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Patricia Lochner; a brother, Franklin Wilber; and his parents, John and Maud Shoemaker Wilber. Funeral services will be on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Frederick Funeral Home, 16 Manning Square (where Clinton and Central Avenues meet) in Albany. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call on Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie. Contributions in memory of Mr. Wilber may be sent to the Memorial Fund at West End Presbyterian Church, 585 Central Avenue, Albany, NY 12206.
