Ray died Tuesday, October 11, 1994 in Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County. [2]

Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery on October 13, 1994. [2]

Obituary HUNTERSLAND Ray E. Porter, 62, of Huntersland died Tuesday in Bassett Hospital of Schoharie County. He was born in Berne and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Porter was employed at the General Electric Co. in Schenectady, retiring in 1992 as a crane operator. He was a honorary member of the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department, the GE Quarter Century Club and the Chestertown Conservation Club. Survivors include his wife, Mary Belden Porter; two daughters, Evelyn Schweppe of Central Bridge and Valerie Stephens of Middleburgh; three sons, Roger Porter of Central Bridge, and Alan Porter and Michael Porter, both of Middleburgh; his mother, Mary Porter of Middleburgh; two sisters, Janis Puchala and Linda McDermott, both of Middleburgh; four brothers, Albert ``Dusty Porter Sr. of Middleburgh, Gene Porter of Jacksonville, Fla., Laurence Porter of Pensacola, Fla., and Robert Porter of Latham; and 23 grandchildren. A service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the Palmer & Shaylor Funeral Home, 63 River St., Middleburgh. Burial will be in Middleburgh Cemetery. Calling hours are 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Huntersland Volunteer Fire Department or the Middleburgh Emergency Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
