Death
Obituary
(Age is not consistent)
The funeral of John Lewis, an aged resident of this section, was held at the home of his brother, Fred Lewis, on Thursday. Mr. Lewis was a well known personage over Albany county particularly among the voting population of Guilderland. In his earlier days be was a noted musician and was a member of a drum and fife corps. His particular instrument was the fife, on which he was very proficient. Mr. Lewis had been ill for several months, old age being responsible for his passing away. He was in his 84th year. Additional Research Notes
At least 3 John Lewis's born about 1841 enlisted in Albany. I can't find proof this is the John Lewis who lived in Knox.
