Birth

Alvah was born in Nashua, New Hampshire at about 1800. [1]

Occupation

Alvah came to Otsego County, New York, later to Knox, Albany County. He was a farmer. He was a Baptist in religion, and a Democrat in politics[1]

Marriage & Children

Alvah married Amanda Tyler, born at Knox in 1803, the daughter of Jesse Tyler[1]and his wife Eunice[2], at about 1823. Their children:

  • Harriet French
  • Sarah A. French
  • Daytus E. French
  • Dorothy French
  • Eunice Esther French, married Edward Livingston Barckley.

Death

Alvah's wife, Amanda died in 1850. He died in Guilderland, 1870, at the age of seventy years. [1]
