Birth

Coenrad, son of Jonathan Hotaling and Jannetie Slingerland, was baptized November 1, 1761.[1]

Occupation

He owned a large tract of land which, at his death, was divided among his two sons, Aaron and Jonathan. Coenrad was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and was a class leader. He was a Democrat and a man of influence in his town. [1]

Marriage & Children

He married first, Jannetje Bogardus.
They had six children

  • Jonathan Hotaling, born August 1791, died at Montezuma, NY on Dec. 9, 1870 and is buried at Cicero, NY [2]
  • Magdalene Hotaling[2]
  • John Hotaling, He ran away as a child and was never heard from again.[2]
  • Aaron Hotaling, born Jan. 14, 1797 at New Scotland, died at Albany on Sept 16, 1866.[2]
  • Solomon Hotaling, born Nov. 14, 1799, at Berne, baptized at the New Salem Reformed Church.[2]
  • Jane married a Hilton, lived in Albany, NY.[2]

He married secondly, Elizabeth Wyngaard, the widow of William Huyck who was baptized at the Coxsackie Reformed Church on Feb. 10, 1765.[2]
Their child:

  • Charity Hotaling, married Philip Service on Dec. 19, 1824, at the Dutch Reformed Chuch at Schoharie.[2]

Death

Coenrad died at Berne, NY in 1833.[2]
He died in the town of Berne in 1831[1]
