Birth

Alta Hallenbeck was born June 19, 1897 at New Scotland (Voorheesville), New York, USA[1], the daughter of William J. Hallenbeck (1873 - September 3, 1961) [1] and Josephine (Jennie) Stalker (1877 - January 7, 1959) [1] .

Education

Alta Hallenbeck attended the former Oneonta Normal School for Teachers.

Obituaries
Alta Salisbury, 90, of Ketcham Road, Knox died at her residence after a short illness. Born in the Town of Scotland and a lifelong resident of the Thompson's Lake are she attended the former Oneonta Normal School for Teachers, and was a schoolteacher in West Sand Lake and the Albany County Hilltowns. She and her husband owned and operated a dairy farm for many years in Thompson's Lake, and she was a member of the Thompson's Lake Reformed Church. Survivors include three daughters — Pauline Williman, Loretta Seidenberg, both of Thompson's Lake, and Grace Krus of Albany, a son, William Salisbury of Thompson's Lake; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Services were June 20 from the Thompson's Lake Reformed Church with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in New Salem. Arrangements were by Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main Street, Altamont. Contributions may he made to the Thompson's Lake Reformed Church Altamont Enterprise - June 23, 1988
