Birth
Son of the late Albertus and Edith Taber, Lyle was one of twin sons born on April 9, 1927 in Walden, New York.[1]
Marriage and Children
Lyle married and had Melanie, William, Lisa, and Deane Taber.[1]
Occupation
Lyle was a former heavy equipment operator for the Voorheesville Army Depot and then a machinist for 18 years at International Harvester in Albany. In 1992, after 20 years of service, he retired from Teledyne Gurley in Troy, where during his career, he served as a machinist and dividing engineer.[1]
Military Service
Lyle was a World War II Army Air Force veteran.[1]

Mr. Taber passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2007.[1]

WATERVLIET Lyle A. Taber, 80, of Watervliet, passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2007. Son of the late Albertus and Edith Taber, Lyle was one of twin sons born on April 9, 1927 in Walden, N.Y. He grew up in the Thompsons Lake, Knox, and Altamont areas. Lyle was a World War II Army Air Force veteran. Lyle was a former heavy equipment operator for the Voorheesville Army Depot and then a machinist for 18 years at International Harvester in Albany. In 1992, after 20 years of service, he retired from Teledyne Gurley in Troy, where during his career, he served as a machinist and dividing engineer. Lyle was known for his keen sense of humor and timely wit. Prior to illness, he was an avid league bowler, winning numerous awards over several years. He was a devoted father to his children, Melanie Taber (Peter Peterson) of Clifton Park, William Taber (Irene) of Troy, Lisa Nelson (Bill) of Guilderland, and Deane Taber (DJ) of Colonie. Very special Grandpa to Emerick Taber. Survivors also include his brothers, Lloyd Taber of South Carolina; his identical twin, Neil Taber of Altamont; Earl Taber of Coxsackie, Lawrence Taber of Niverville and Bert Taber of Florida, as well as his dear, dedicated friend, Patricia O'Brien of Cohoes. Lyle was predeceased by his brother, Robert Taber, and his stepdaughter, Charla Keck. Lyle chose to donate his remains to the Anatomical Gift Program of Albany Medical College. Honoring his decision, a funeral service will not be held at this time. A memorial service will take place at a later date. For those who wish, contributions in memory of Lyle made be made to The American Heart Association, Northeastern Region, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205, or the American Diabetes Research Foundation, Individual Giving Dept, 1701 North Beauregard St., Alexandria, VA 22311.
