Effie Sholtes was born on August 12, 1883 in the family farm house on Rock Road in Knox. She was one of nine children born to Stanton Sholtes and Ida Gibbs

Effie Sholtes married James Henry Wagoner and their union produced two sons Junius Wagoner born March 17, 1915 and died August 5, 1985 and Stanton Wagoner born about 1921 and died in 1939

Effie Sholtes died on June 28, 1943 and is buried in the Knox cemetery
