Otis was born Aug. 1886 in Berne or Middleburgh, son of James K. Alverson and Rhoda E. Shoemaker.

He attended school in Middleburgh, Schoharie, NY.[1]

- 1920 he was a shipping clerk in a brewery living on Barrach Road, East Greenbush, Rensselaer, NY.[3]
