Birth
John B. Cross was born on January 3, 1825[1] in Albany County[2] , NY to Edward Cross and his wife. He had an older brother, Joseph Cross, who was born in about 1820 and died on June 16, 1864.
Marriage & Children
On July 4, 1849 in Guilderland, John married a woman named Catherine or Katheryn Fullington (B. Jan 1827, D. abt 1910), who was the daughter of Jacob Fullington.
They had 14 children of which 11 were alive in 1900:

Education
Like many of his contemporaries, John apparently did not recieve much education. The 1865 NY State Census recorded that he did not know how to read or write although later census recorded otherwise.[3] He probably went to work at a young age, taking him away from school.
Occupation
John worked primarily as a general laborer throughout his life.

Life
John B. Cross lived his early life in Albany County but in about 1853[2] he moved to Wright in Schoharie County, NY.[5][6][7][4][8] While John worked only as a laborer, he did have enough money to own his own home in Wright.[3][9] However by 1900, he was renting a house in Wright.[8]
Death
John B. Cross died on June 15, 1903 in Knox, Albany County, NY.[1]
