Silas Ezra Keenholts was born on December 3, 1839 in Knox, a son of John Keenholts and Christina Saddlemire. He was an only child.

Silas Keenholts married Elmina Armstrong, the daughter of John B. Armstrong and Mary Clikeman. Their children were:

Death
Elmina Armstrong Keenholts died on March 21, 1892 in Knox. Silas Keenholts died on September 4, 1925 at the home of Emory Truax. They’re buried beside each other in the Knox Cemetery.
