Samuel Lockwood was born on September 13, 1800 in Fairfield Co., CT a son of Ira Lockwood and Betsey Utter. His known siblings were:

On January 1, 1826 in Westerlo, he married Margaret Swope who was born in Westerlo on February 25, 1803, a daughter of Frederick Swope and Adria Whitmarsh. The known children of Samuel and Margaret were:

- Angeline Lockwood born about 1832, married a Stanton

Occupation
Samuel was a farmer and a wheelwright.[1]
In politics he was a Whig, then a Republican, and a member of the Christian church.[1]
Death
Samuel died on May 31, 1875. Margaret died on December 9, 1896. They’re buried beside each other at the Westerlo Central Cemetery in Westerlo.
