Birth

Ichabod Crippen was the oldest son of John Crippen and was born on August 3, 1765[1] at Alford, Berkshire Co., MA. [2]

Military

Ichabod served as a private in the Revolutionary War under the command of Colonel Dillick for 7 months and 27 days and was honorably discharged.

Marriage and Children

Ichabod married on September 18, 1783, Mary Whiting a daughter of John Whiting. She was born on August 25, 1765 in MA. They had the following children:

  • Amos Crippen born June 18, 1785
  • David Crippen born January 18, 1787
  • Hannah Crippen born January 19, 1789
  • Abby Crippen born March 3, 1790
  • Elizabeth Crippen born March 3, 1793
  • Daniel Crippen born November 26, 1794
  • Elijah Crippen born March 27, 1796
  • Mary Crippen born December 16, 1797
  • Rodah Crippen born February 19, 1800
  • Anna Crippen born May 12, 1801
  • Ruby Crippen born November 24, 1803
  • Ichabod Crippen born July 10, 1807

Death

Ichabod died on May 4, 1828 at Berne. Mary died on July 9, 1850.
