Birth

Reuben Bumpus b. 1860 in Sharon,CT. He was a descendant of Edouad Bompasse, known as Edward Bumpas in the Colonies, who came as a French Huguenot from England on the Ship Fortune in 1621, first ship after the Mayflower.

Education

Reuben singed his name with an X.

Marriage

Reuben married Phoebe Gibbs, probably in Burn, but had no issue.

Military Service

Reuben Bumpus served 5 hitches in the Rev War and saw action in the battles of Bennington and Saratoga.

Life

He lived in Little Hoosic NY, (now Petersburg) which was in East Manor, prior to moving to Berne. His Brother, Frederick moved to lot 250, Rensselaerville NY, which is also in West Manor. He moved to PA shortly after 1800 and founded the town of Bumpville PA.

Death

He died in 1849.
