Birth
Robert Schaible was born in Altamont on March 9, 1925, a son of Frederick and Blanche Schaible.
Education
Robert graduated from Altamont High School in 1943.
Marriage and Children
Robert married Elizabeth A. Smith and they had three sons, David R., Daniel R., and Dennis R. Schaible; and three daughters, Theresa L., Catherine A., and Margaret M. Schaible.
Occupation
Mr. Schaible was a self-employed painter for most of his life. He was a clerk at Ketchum's Service Station in Altamont until his illness.
Military Service
Mr. Schaible was a World War II Army veteran.
Death
Robert died Wednesday, June 16, 1993, at home after a long illness.[1] His widow, Elizabeth, died on October 31, 1997.
Burial
Robert and his wife were both buried at Fairview Cemetery in Altamont on June 19, 1993.

Schaible of West Berne omitted the name of a daughter, Margaret M. Renaud of Watervliet, from the list of survivors. Robert F. Schaible, 68, of Dutch Settlement Road, West Berne, died Wednesday at home after a long illness. Mr. Schaible was born in Altamont. He was a lifelong Capital Region resident. He graduated from Altamont High School in 1943. He was a self-employed painter for most of his life. He was a clerk at Ketchum's Service Station in Altamont until his illness. Mr. Schaible was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and the Helderberg American Legion Post 977, both in Altamont. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth A. Schaible; three sons, David R. Schaible of Rotterdam, Daniel R. Schaible of Coeymans and Dennis R. Schaible of Sloansville, Schoharie County; two daughters, Theresa L. Paigo of Albany and Catherine A. Swint of Watervliet; three brothers, Harold E. Schaible of Blair, Neb., Herbert G. Schaible of Duanesburg and Howard R. Schaible of Bellevue, Wash.; and 12 grandchildren. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Altamont. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Contributions may be made to St. Peter's Hospice, 315 S. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208.
