She was a member of the Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Altamont.

In the 1970s, she sold advertising for The Altamont Enterprise. She also worked in the Cafeteria of the Guilderland Central High School, retiring in 1980.

LEONA I. ORSINI

KNOX — Leona I. Orsini, 65, of Knox Cave, Road died Oct. 27 (1994) in St. Peter's Hospital, Albany. She was born April 29, 1929 in Schenectady, the daughter of Frederick J. and Ethel Jones Rendo, and was a lifelong oresident of the Capital Region. Mrs. Orsini was, a homemaker.

She was a member of the Boyd Hilton Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, Altamont.

In the 1970s, she sold advertising for The Altamont Enterprise. She also worked in the Cafeteria of the Guilderland Central High School, retiring in 1980.

Survivors include her husband, Henry F. Orsini; three sons, James P. Orsini of Knox, Frank J. Orsini of Central Bridge and Jeffrey A. Orsini of Guilderland; a daughter, Jane M. Swint of Knox; a brother, Roland Rendo of Rotterdam; a sister, Melva DiFlorio of Albany; and seven grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

A service was held Sunday in the Fredendall Funeral Home

[Knox]--Henry F. Orsini, 78, was a man who couldn't sit still. He died Tuesday, October 15, 2002 after being stricken at work. Mr. Orsini was part owner of Orsini Brothers Trucking and Excavating for many years. His free-time was filled with activity. "He just couldn't sit still," said his son, Jeffrey A. Orsini. Mr. Orsini hunted deer and restored old furniture for friend, said his son. During World War II, he served in the Army Air Corp, seeing action in Okinawa. He was a life and charter member of the Boyd Hilton Post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars #7062 in Altamont. In addition to Jeffrey and Lisa Orsini of Guilderland, he is survived by two other sons, James P. Orsini of Knox, and Frank J. Orsini of Middleburgh; a daughter, Jane M. Swint and her husband, Charles, of Knox; three brothers, Michael Orsini of Knox, and Edward and Joseph Orsini, both of Altamont; seven grandchildren, James Scannell, Vanessa Stead, Joshua Scannell, Chuckie Swint, Derek Swint, Jeffrey Orsini Jr., and Stacey Orsini; three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. His wife, Leona Rendo Orsini died before him in 1994, as did six brothers, Salvano, John, Nicholas, Anthony, Millard, and Ernest Orsini; four sisters, Josephine Femia, Marguerite Orsini, Rose Orsini, and Florence Nelson. A funeral service will be held Thursday at 8 p.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, 199 Main St., Altamont. Calling hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Altamont Rescue Squad, Post Office Box 56, Altamont, NY 12009, or the Boyd Hilton VFW Post #7062, 11 Mill St., Altamont, NY 12009.--W.
