The Information in entries numbers 1-17 was copied from headstones in private burial plots in the Town of Knox in 1994. Because the deteriorated condition of some of the stones made the inscriptions difficult to read, this list may contain errors.

John Saddlemire, died Dec. 17, 1853, In his 89 year

Emily, wife of John Jost Saddlemire, died Dec. 25, 1863, aged 80 years, 4 months, 10 days

Peaceful in thy silent. slumber
Peaceful in the grave so low
Thou no more will join our number
Thou no more our songs shall know

John Saddlemire, died Feb. 12, 1877, aged 86 years, 11 months, 10 days

In memory of Elizabeth, daughter of John and Elizabeth Saddlemire, who died Sept. 25, 1854, aged 13 years, 10 months and 10 days

Asleep in Jesus far from thee
Thy kindred and their graves may be
But there is still a blessed sleep
From which none ever wakes to weep

In memory of Elon, son of John and Elizabeth Saddlemire, who died Dec. 31, 1865, aged 17 years, 9 months and 10 days

He died in Jesus and was blest
How sweet his slumbers are
Released from pain and suffering
And freed from all his cares
