Ira was born in 1792 probably at Spencertown, Rensselaer Co., NY, a son of Asa Abbott and Elizabeth Pratt. His known siblings:
- Asa Abott born in 1783 at Spencertown
- Elizabeth Abbott born 1787, married John Wolford
- Ralph Pratt Abbott born in 1790
Marriage & Children
At about 1818 he married Sophia Dominick . Their children:
- Maria Abbott born about 1819, she died on June 15, 1831
- Elizabeth Abbott
- Cornelia Abbott born in 1821
- Aurelia Abbott born in 1824
- Ira Abbott
- Seneca Abbott
Death
Ira died on April 11, 1830. He was buried at the Wolford Family burial Ground in Knox.
