Birth

William was born in Germany on June 26, 1922 son of the late William and Helene (Renner) Lenski, Sr.

Marriage and Children

His first wife, Harriet McDonald predeceased him. He married, secondly, Lee Newcomb. Mr. Lenski had four children, Harriet, Pamela, Tammy and Willie Lenski.

Occupation

William was a self-employed contractor having worked for Callanan Construction & Con-Edison. He did extensive work on the Empire State Plaza. Upon his retirement he was a self-employed carpenter.

Military Service

William was a World War II veteran and was a POW.

Death

He passed away suddenly at the VA Medical Center in Albany on August 9, 2001.

Burial

Interment will be on August 11, 2001 in the Oak Hill Cemetery.

He was born in Germany on June 26, 1922 son of the late William and Helene (Renner) Lenski, Sr. He was a World War II veteran and was a POW. He was a self-employed contractor having worked for Callanan Construction & Con-Edison. He did extensive work on the Empire State Plaza. Upon his retirement he was a self-employed carpenter. Bill was very active in several Veterans Organizations, a former Boy Scout Leader, a former member of the Cairo-Durham Board of Education and a former Town Councilman for the Town of Rensselaerville. Surviving are his wife, Lee (Newcomb) Lenski; four children, Harriet Noble, Pamela Harvey, Tammy and Willie Lenski, seven step-children, David, Wayne and Blane Winans, Lorraine Lloyd, Loretta Skinner, Dawn Haller and Tamie Wood; several grand and great-grandchildren and a sister, Lottie Cascardi. His first wife, Harriet (McDonald) Lenski predeceased him. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Cunningham Funeral Home, 4898 SR81, Greenville, NY. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11 to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
