Francis Garvey was born on March 12, 1762, in Dutchess Co., NY.

Military

Francis served in the Revolutionary War with Van Cortland’s 61st Regiment.

Marriage and Children

Francis married in December 1786 the Oblong, Dutchess Co. Amy Townsend born 1762 to Robert Townsend 1724 and Amy of Dutchess County Their Children were:

  • Phoebe Garvey b. March 1788 in Dutchess Co. She married Gardener Green.
  • Daniel Garvey b. September 12, 1798, died January 2, 1881, in Tioga Co. He married Amy Day.
  • Isaac F. Garvey b. August 22 1800 Huntersland married Cynthia Day.
  • 2 other children.

They lived on Garvey Hill on what is now Rt. 10 going from Rensselaerville to Huntersland.

Death

Francis died September 8, 1849, in Huntersland.
