John E. Vandenburgh was born in Rensselaerville, Albany County, NY in about 1843.[1] He was the son of ______ Vandenburgh and Eliza Ann Fisher. After the death of his father, his mother married James Albro Sweet.

He married Helen who was born at about 1859, at about 1875 and had a son, John W. Vandenburgh, who was born in Lansingburgh, NY.
