BERNE -- Barbara Senecal Martineau Remmers, 71, passed away suddenly on Friday, November 18, 2005 after a short illness.

Mrs. Remmers was born in Saratoga, N.Y. to the late James and Anna Senecal. She worked with Price Chopper (Golub Corp.), formerly Central Market, for many years. She was a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Knox Fire Department Auxiliary and past matron of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Remmers loved reading, crafts, travel and Native American history and culture. She was predeceased by her first husband, Everett (Dick) Martineau.

Survivors include her beloved husband, Gerd J. Remmers; and his children, John G. (Mary) Remmers of Voorheesville, Patricia (George) Rapoli of Voorheesville, Robert (Patricia) Remmers of Clifton Park and Barbara (Anthony) Turi of Feura Bush; also grandchildren, Hans, Lauren, Ashleigh, Michael and Gabrielle. She was the sister of Claudia Willette of N.H., Emma (Herky) Noyes of Mechanicville, James Senecal of Stillwater and the late Eleanor Elkins and Sarah Senecal; also survived by several nieces and nephews including Glen Martineau, who was like a son to her.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 23, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m. Burial will be in Hudson View Cemetery, Mechanicville, N.Y.
