Birth

Robert was born in New York in February of 1830, a son of John G. Westervelt and Mary Bebee.[1]

Occupation=

Robert's father was an affluent doctor. Robert chose farming, and lived in many areas working on farms. Prior to the Civil War he was in Albany and found his way to Westerlo where he was working as a farm laborer for James Lobdell.

Marriage & Children

He married at on October 3, 1872 in Rhode Island, Jane Gill who was born in England.[1] They had a daughter, Elizabeth G. Westervelt born there in 1874[2].

His wife, Jane, died on December 19, 1912 at Cranston, Rhode Island. Robert died on July 30, 1917 at Providence, Rhode Island.[5]
