Biography
Knox - Thomas M. Tubbs Sr., 60, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010 surrounded by his family at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on July 20, 1949, son of Rosemary and late Merlin Tubbs. He was a 1969 graduate of the Berne Knox Westerlo High School, after which he served in the Army as a military policeman in Germany. He worked for the Town of Knox Highway Dept. for 28 years. He had also been Knox Volunteer Fireman. Thomas is survived by his wife of 36 years Ruth M. Tubbs; four children, Cindy (Forest) Albright, Penny (Joe) Plouffe, Tommy (Laura) Tubbs Jr., Amanda Tubbs and Brian Steele; four grandchildren, Gabrielle, Jessalynn, Colynn, and Erika; seven siblings, Carol, Sally, Kathy, Peggy, Lori, Lindy, and Jamie as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 4pm on Sunday, January 10, 2010 at Fredendall Funeral Home, Altamont. Friends may call prior from 12 to 4pm. A spring burial will be held in Knox Cemetery at the convenience of the Family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Thomas' memory to his wife Ruth.
