Birth

Joseph Marchant Bundy Sr. was born on August 3, 1788 in Connecticut, a son of John Bundy, Sr.

Marriage & Children

At about 1808 he married Margaret Roach who was born on April 6, 1780. They had the following known children:

  • Sanford Bundy b. about 1815, married Mary Havens
  • Mary Bundy b. about 1818
  • Nancy Bundy b. April 1, 1821
  • Joseph Marchant Bundy b. April 1, 1821
  • Amy Bundy b. about 1828


Death

Margaret died on December 28, 1865 and was buried in the Lee Church Cemetery. Joseph died on August 23, 1876 and was buried beside her.

Additional Research Notes

The 1855 census indicates that Joseph, Jr. was an adopted son. If he was not adopted, the date of birth given for him would indicate that he was a twin to Nancy.
