Birth

Daniel, son of Stephen Hungerford and Hannah Deval, was born in the town of Berne, Albany county, New York.[1] He was born on December 1, 1797 [2]

Occupation

He lived on and owned the farm originally settled by his grandfather, now owned by his descendants. He was successful in business. He was a member of the Dutch Reformed church, and a Democrat.[1]

Marriage & Children

He married Hannah Stalker, born in Berne[1] on February 9, 1800, the daughter of Alexander Stalker and Margaret Martin, on February 26, 1818 at the Helderberg Reformed Church in Guilderland Center, Albany Co., NY[2]
Their children:

  • Magdalena Hungerford, born March 8, 1819[2]
  • Alfred Hungerford, born December 15, 1820[2]
  • Maria Hungerford, born about 1821[2]
  • Alexander Hungerford, born December 23, 1823
  • Henry Hungerford, born January 26, 1824[2]
  • Oliver Morgan Hungerford, born January 2, 1827[2]
  • Isaac Hungerford, born 1828, died 1909, married Elizabeth Oliver, daughter of Jacob and Elizabeth Lukentelly Oliver.[2]
  • Helen Hungerford, born 1835, married William Flagler[2]
  • Emily, unmarried [1]


Death

Daniel died on July 20, 1860 and his wife, Hannah died on April 19, 1875.[2]
Both are buried at the Mont Pleasant Cemetery in New Salem, Albany Co., NY
