Sympathy

Irving Layton "Bernie" Bernhardt died at Ocala Regional Medical Center in Ocala, Fla. on Thursday, Oct. 25. His wife, Marjorie, had died before him.

Back in the 1940's, this dear couple lived on the corner of Fifth Street and Sacandaga Road in Scotia, New York. I did not know them then, but we often spoke as I waited for the Crane Street bus to Schenectady. "Marge" was sister to Helen Becker and their father was Minton Becker, who ran the shoe and harness repair shop in what is now part of The Enterprise building.

Our sincere sympathy to their family and friends here and in Florida. They were special people. God bless them.
