The meeting of the Oriole 4-H club was held May 22 (1933). Two of the girls, Irene Haluska and Veronika Stemple, have finished athe hightgowns and are starting the other garments. The other members cut out their garments at this meeting. After the meeting the girls walked home for their good health.

Margaret M. Dougherty - NOT A DAUGHTER OF IRENE HALUSKA - Possible relative?

Margaret Manchester Dougherty of Maple Ave,, Altamont, died suddenly on Thursday June 7 (1973).

Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Manchester, she was born April 26, 1889. In her earlier years she attended school in Altamont.

On Nov 12, 1914, she married Emerson H. Doughtery of Oneonta. Mr. Dougherty ("En") was a telegraph operator for the D and H Railroad, and they moved here after marriage. Later they returned to Altamont to take care of Mrs. Dougherty's mother and father.

After the death of Albert Manchester "Em" took 'over the electrical and plumbing business here for a number of years. After Mr. Manchester's death in 1933, "Em" went back to work for the D & H and they moved back to Oneonta in 1948.

After Mr. Dougherty's death in 1954, Margaret returned to Altamont.

Funeral services were held from the Fredendall Funeral Home on Monday, June 11, with Rev. James K. Hilton officiating. Interment was at Grove cemetery, Quaker Street.
