BERNE -- William E. Swint, Sr., 74, passed away peacefully Friday, July 27, 2001. Mr. Swint was born on July 16, 1927 in Albany. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Contractor Sales Inc. in Colonie. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. William is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Leah C. Swint. He is also survived by his children, Daniel and Denise Swint of Clifton Park, Teresa and Harrison Ackroyd of E. Berne, Karen and Jack Norray of Berne, William and Sarah Swint of Wappinger Falls; and his grandchildren, Christopher, Harry, Jack, Dana, Jason, Evan and Dillon. Services will be private at the request of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Helderberg Ambulance Squad, Box 54, E. Berne, NY 12059.
