Birth

Ervin Rogers was born February 18, 1920[1] in Medford, Jackson County, Oregon.

Marriage and Children

Ervin first married Anna M. Cleaveland. There were no children. He married secondly, Grace Bee Wright, daughter of Burton J Wright and Ruth Filkins, on May 1, 1943 at Chester, Delaware, PA. They had one daughter:

  • Linda Marie Rogers was born on 28 Nov 1949 at Albany, Albany, NY. She married Eugene Loparco, son of Vincent P Loparco and Mary V Dinuzzo, on 8 Aug 1988 at Albany, Albany, NY.

Occupation

He was retired from the Albany County Highway Department, where he had worked for 27 years.

Military Service

Mr. Rogers was in the U.S. Army in World War II. His name on the enlistment was Ervin L. Roger, born 1920 in Oregon. He enlisted at March Field at Riverside, California and was a resident at the time of San Bernardino, California.

Death

Ervin died July 24, 1994 at his home in Preston Hollow, New York.

Burial

Mr. Rogers was buried July 29, 1994 in Medusa Cemetery.

RENSSELAERVILLE Ervin L. Rogers, 74, of Travis Hill Road, Preston Hollow, died Sunday in his home. Mr. Rogers was born in Medford, Ore. He was retired from the Albany County Highway Department, where he had worked for 27 years. Mr. Rogers was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Clarke White Post 0589, Preston Hollow. He was a past member of the Rensselaerville Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Anna M. Cleveland Rogers; two step-sons, Edward Utter of Preston Hollow and Donald Utter of Rensselaerville; a daughter, Linda Loparco of Albany; a brother, Clifford Rogers of California; and a step-grandson. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Richards Funeral Home, 383 Bross St., Cairo, Greene County, with burial in Medusa Cemetery. Calling hours will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
