George E. Pierce, 67, of Zorn Road died Tuesday in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center Hospital, Albany, after a long illness. He was born in Westerlo. Mr. Pierce was a retired machinist. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Survivors include two sons, Frank Pierce of Albany and George Pierce of Castleton; a daughter, Bonnie Plue of Castleton; his mother, Hazel Whitman Pierce of Albany; a brother, Franklin Pierce Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; and three sisters, Jean Giardenelli of Schenectady and Elisa Murphy and Frances Reed, both of Albany. A service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Hearley & Son Funeral Home, 1561 Western Ave. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany. Calling hours are 5-8 p.m. today in the funeral home.
