Birth

Eric was born in Hoboken, New Jersey on May 24, 1920, son of Erich and Mathilda (Krokeck) Grunwald.

Marriage and Children

Mr. Grunwald married Toni Monaco and they had five children, Ricky, Michael, John, Eileen, and Jeanne Grunwald.

Occupation

An electrician, Eric was a 50 year member of I.B.E.W. 363 in Harriman, N.Y., also a member of the Hiawatha Grange 1480.

Military Service

Eric was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lap Wing.

Death

Mr. Grunwald, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2007 after a brief illness.

He was born in Hoboken, N.J. on May 24, 1920, son of the late Erich and Mathilda (Krokeck) Grunwald. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy on the USS Lap Wing. An electrician, he was a 50 year member of I.B.E.W. 363 in Harriman, N.Y., also a member of the Hiawatha Grange 1480. Past president and trustee of the Hilltown Seniors, an H.C.R.C. Food Pantry volunteer and a member of the Greenville American Legion Post #291. Surviving are his wife, Toni (Monaco) Grunwald; five children, Ricky Grunwald (Shirlene) of Waldon, N.Y., Michael Grunwald (Eileen) of Northfield, Mass., John Grunwald (Donna) of South Westerlo, Eileen Hallock of Amsterdam, N.Y. and Jeanne Hansen (Robert) of Walton; also 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; a sister Matilda Magnetta (Alfred); two brothers, Norman Grunwald (Margaret) and Ernest Grunwald. Funeral service will be Saturday 11 a.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.
