Birth
Peter Ball was born on February 1, 1798, a son of William Henry Ball (1763-1843) and Maria Weidman[1]
Marriage & Children
Peter married on May 12, 1821 at the Reformed Church at Berne, Eve E. Kniskern who was born on December 8, 1800, a daughter of Johan Jost Kniskern and Elizabeth Weidman[1] and had the following children:
- Nancy Elizabeth Ball, born November 25, 1821[1]
- Jacob H. Ball, born at about 1824[1]
- William Ball, born February 6, 1825[1]
- George W. Ball, born October 6, 1827[1]
- Emma Ball, born October 9, 1829[1]
- Amos W. Ball, born October 28, 1832[1]
- Alice A. Ball, born in 1837[1]
- Jerome Ball, born October 20, 1843[1]
Life
He was a leader of the Berne anti-rent farmers and was thrown out of his house with his family in the winters of 1860 and 1865 by Walter Church and National Guard troops for refusing to pay back rent. Their farmhouse was near the present BKW High School in Berne, NY.
Death
Eva died on November 22, 1866. Peter died on August 29, 1883[1]
