Benjamin was born at about 1765 in Dutchess County, NY, a son of Jonathan Prosser and Phebe Russell. [1]
Marriage & Children
At about 1785 in Coeymans, he married Catherine Wendell who was born at about 1766[1]. Their known children:
- John W. Prosser was born at about 1786, married Esther Chapman[1]
- Henry Prosser[2] born December 13, 1788, married Eliza F. Pinant[1]
- Jonathan Prosser born about 1790[2]
- Polina Prosser, born about 1792 married a Stanton[2]
- Catherine Maria Prosser born about 1795, wife of John Mead[2]
- Abraham Prosser born about 1797, married Sally McVicar and Ann Clickner. [2]
- Elizabeth “Betsey” Prosser born about 1800, married Thomas Seaman[2]
- Phebe Prosser born about 1802, married Obediah Colwell [2]

Death
Catherine died in 1834 at Westerlo[1]. Her burial was at the Prosser Family Burial Ground. Benjamin’s death presumably took place in Westerlo sometime before 1850. No marker exists for him at the Prosser Burial Ground.
