Birth
John George Wetsel was born in Knox in 1803, a son of Joseph Wetsel and Mary Elizabeth Fake. His known siblings were:

- Joseph Wetsel, Jr.

- David Wetsel
- Mary Elizabeth Wetsel, married Daniel Crary
- Margaret Wetsel, married Ephraim Crary
- Christiana Wetsel, married Seth Wheelock

- Hannah Wetsel, married Eli Gallup
Remarks
John did not marry. In the years before his death, he lived in the household with his mother . The 1850 census didn’t indicate what his occupation was but the transcribed cemetery records indicate that he was a doctor. Those same records indicate that his father had a legal occupation.
Death
John died on April 15, 1854 and was buried at the Quay Road Burial Ground in Knox.
John’s Will
Written on August 19, 1852, proved and recorded on June 13, 1854
