Berne--Allen C. Weis, a contractor and veteran of the Vietnam War, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at his home in Berne. He was 61. He served in the United States Army and was a Vietnam vetran. He worked as a self-employed contractor for many years. He was a loving grandfather and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Pamela Rowe Weis; two sons, Michael A. Weis and his wife, Tina, of Schenectady and Joseph R. Weis and his wife, Lisa, of Berne; one daughter, Suzie S. Weis of Sherman Oaks, California; one brother, Gerard Weis, of Massachusetts; five grandchildren, Michael Jr., Matthew and Nathan Weis, Joseph Cole, and Casey Weis. A memorial service will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. at the McKownville United Methodist Church in Guilderland. Arrangements are by Fredendall Funeral Home of Altamont. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Northeast New York, 1 Mustang Dr., Cohoes, NY 12047 or to the McKownville United Methodist Church, 1565 Western Ave., Albany, NY 12203.
