Joel Warner was born in Fulton County, NY on October 4, 1839, a son of John J. Warner and Lana <ref name="Town and City Registers">Town and City Registers of Men Who Served in the Civil War</ref>TenEyck<ref name="Berne History">Berne NY Family files, www.bernehistory.org </ref>

==Marriage & Children==
He married at about 1869 in Wisconsin, Amanda Hamilton, who was born in Kansas in 1847 and moved to Nebraska. They had the following known children:

*Willis H. Warner
*Agnes H. Warner

==Occupation==
Joel was a teacher at the time of his enlistment. He later became a minister.
