Richard A. Tallman was born circa 1807,<ref name="Grave">Gravestone of Richard A. Tallman</ref> in [[Huntersland]] to [[Jeremiah Tallman]] and [[Catharine Akin]]. He grew up there, most likely working on his father's farm. He would later remained a farmer throughout his life.<ref name="Census">U.S & N.Y. Census Research</ref><ref>1870-71 Gazeteer and Directory of Albany and Schenectady Counties,Gazetteer and business directory of Albany & Schenectady Co., N.Y. for 1870-71. unknown: H. Child, 1870.</ref>

Richard married [[Mary Hall]]<ref>Gravestone of Mary (Hall) Tallman</ref>, a daughter of [[George Hall]] and his wife, Polly.<ref name="Census" /> They lived in [[Huntersland]] and [[Rensselaerville]] and they had no children.<ref name="Census" />

==Death==
He died on March 22, 1877,<ref name="Grave" /> at 70 years of age. He is buried [[Huntersland Christian Cemetery]] in [[Huntersland]].<ref name="Grave" />
