==Birth==
He was born in Holland in the month of February of 1753 and came to this Country when he was 12 years old.
==Military== 
He first entered the military in the Town of Bethlehem and enlisted in Capt. Van Wie’s Company in Col. Vandenberg’s regiment in September of 1776 for a term of three month as a Drummer and was marched to Saratoga where the company and regiment were engaged in building barracks and he served as a drummer until his time expired. He was discharged about the First of January 1777 and then returned home.
He again entered the service at about the first of July 1777 in Bethlehem with Capt. William Winne’s Company in Col. Vandenberg’s Regiment as a substitute for Jacob Kimme who had been drafted. He remained a drummer and was immediately marched to Fort Edward . He was a substitute for Jacob Kimme for the term of two months, and was discharged about the first of September 1777 and then returned home.
He again entered the said service at Bethlehem aforesaid a volunteer and enlisted in Capt. Van Wie’s Company in Col. Quackenbush’s Regiment on the first of September 1778 for the term of three months as a drummer and was marched to Schoharie and stationed at the Upper Fort where he served until his term of three months expired. He was discharged on the first of December 1778 and then retuned home.
==Marriage & Children==
He married at the Dutch Reformed Church in Albany, Margaret “Peggy” Howard on July 12, 1779. His name on that record was spelled Sutter.

It’s unclear whether or not there were any children born to this family.

==Death==
Jacob died on February 15, 1838 at Berne.
