==Birth== 
Benjamin Franklin Sayre was born on November 15, 1810, in [[Rensselaerville]] to [[Silas Sayre]] and [[Sarah Conger]].<ref name="Banta">Banta, Theodore Melvin, Sayre Family: Lineage of Thomas Sayre, a Founder of Southampton, De Vinne Press 1901</ref> His parents had come from downstate before his birth.<ref name="Banta"/> He had a large number of siblings.<ref name="Banta"/>

==Occupation==
Benjamin Franklin Sayre was a farmer in Preston Hollow, Rensselaerville. He farmed [[Lot 89]] in [[Rensselaerville]], which had about 110 acres. In 1889, fiber from his Cotswold and Merino sheep was exhibited at the Universal Exposition in Paris.<ref name="Paris">Reports of the United States Commissioners to the Universal Exposition of 1889 at Paris, Published by Secretary of State by Authority of Congress, Governement Printing Office, Washington 1891</ref> Benjamin's son Hercules farmed with him.

==Marriage & Children==
On October 8, 1838, Benjamin married [[Lucinda Wickes]], who was from Norton Hill, [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greene_County,_NY Greene County].<ref name="Banta"/> They had a son [[Hercules Sayre]], who was born on August 12, 1842, in [[Rensselaerville]].<ref name="Banta"/>

==Death==
Benjamin Franklin Sayre died on February 21, 1893.<ref name="Banta"/> His wife Lucinda died about a year and a half later on October 5, 1894.<ref name="Banta"/><br>

''Researcher Note: I do not know where Benjamin was buried but presumably in Rensselaerville as that is where his wife Lucinda and son Hercules are said to have been buried.''

Their estate ultimately went to their grand daughter Estelle Sayre. She sold their farm in Rensselaerville to Elroy C. Mackey on September 9, 1915.<ref name="Altamont">The [[Altamont Enterprise]] Friday July 5, 1935, Altamont, NY</ref>
