William Posson was the son of Peter Posson, Jr., and Anna West (dau of Peter West 1749). He was born on 30 November 1800, in Greene County. William's siblings were: Peter W. 1798, Hannah 1802, Elizabeth 1804, John 1807, Sarah 1809, Catherine Ann 1810, Henry 1812, Julia Marie 1814, Rebecca 1816, Cornelius V. 1819, Chester 1821, Eunice 1823, Catholine 1824.

==Marriage & Children==
William married Mary Catharine Becker (dau. of John Becker and Rebecca Schaeffer) on 11 May 1825 at Reformed Church, Schoharie, Schoharie, NY.
