Daniel was born April 23, 1805, in New York State<ref>U.S. Census Research</ref><ref name="Grave">Gravestone of Daniel D. Lounsbury, Medusa Cemetery, Medusa, NY</ref>, likely in [[Rensselaerville]] where his parents were living at the time. His father was [[Nathan Lounsbury (B. 1780) | Nathan Lounsbury]] and his wife Sarah.

==Occupation==
Daniel was a farmer. During the Civil War, wool from the Lounsbury-Tallman farm was used for uniforms for the Union Soldiers.<ref name="HL">Helderberg Lounsbury's, Gertrude Miller & Marie Lounsbury, 1982</ref>

Daniel married Elizabeth _______. Their known children:
