Coenrad, son of Jonathan Hotaling and Jannetie Slingerland, was baptized November 1, 1761.<ref name="Reynolds">Reynolds, Cuyler, Hudson-Mohawk Genealogical and Family Memoirs, Lewis Historical Publishing Company, NY 1911 Vol. IV, pp. 1504-1506 </ref>

==Occupation==
He owned a large tract of land which, at his death, was divided among his two sons, Aaron and Jonathan. Coenrad was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and was a class leader. He was a Democrat and a man of influence in his town. <ref name="Reynolds"/>

He married first, Jannetje Bogardus. <br> They had six children
*Jonathan Hotaling, born August 1791, died at Montezuma, NY on Dec. 9, 1870 and is buried at Cicero, NY <ref name="Kassak">Descendents of Mathys Coenratsen Hooghteeling, compiled by Marian & Joseph Kassak</ref>

*John Hotaling, He ran away as a child and was never heard from again.<ref name="Kassak"/>

Coenrad died at Berne, NY in 1833.<ref name="Kassak"/><br>
