At about 1855 he married Catherine Robbins a daughter of Horace E. and Elizabeth Robbins, who was born in Berne, NY in March of 1838<ref name="1850 census, Berne">1850 census, Berne, Albany Co., NY</ref>. After the war, they removed to Greenville, NY. They had 5 children all of whom were living in 1900.<ref name="1900 census, Greenville">1900 census, Greenville, Greene Co., NY</ref>
